Democracy Cafe

How can music bond us? How can it divide us? How can it make you closer to yourself?

That’s the question we’ll explore at 1 pm April 30, Thursday  — International Jazz Day — at our next global Socrates Cafe.
I want these virtual experiences and exchanges of ours, at least sometimes, to be a little different.  To that end: if you can, please have ready about 30 seconds’ worth of music to share with us somehow — preferably on a separate device than the one you’re using to be part of our Socrates Cafe.

I thought of this particular question after my exchange yesterday with our nonprofit’s honorary board member Cornel West, who talked near the end about the influence of jazz and classical music on his life.

Here is all the Zoom info you need to access our gathering next Thursday 4/30:

And thank you sooo much to those who donated to our nonprofit.  These are tough times, and I’ve lost every single paying job through November.  Your thoughtfulness and belief in our mission truly is a boost.    https://www.paypal.me/DemocracyCafe
