Democracy Cafe

I’ll write more about this soon, but one of the ways I can point to Democracy Cafe’s ‘success’ is that it draws enthusiastic support from everyday folks, and from luminaries, across the political and philosophical spectrum. This is evidenced in part by those who readily accepted my invitation to be on our advisory board — from the libertarian scholar Thaddeus Russell who wrote a glowing blurb for my book Constitution Cafe: Jefferson’s Brew for a True Revolution, to the progressive Dr. Cornel West, to the more politically middle of the road but nonetheless singularly rabble-rousing Lawrence Lessig.  All have the firm and fervent conviction that Democracy Cafe’s initiatives have a vital role to play in maintaining and evolving our open society and others, and also in bringing about kinds of change in other parts of the world that hold promise over the longer haul of bringing about an opening in societies that have long been closed.
