Democracy Cafe

How cool that longtime Socrates Cafe-goers in the Twin Cities are having their 11th annual picnic. Wish so much I could be there with these fabulous souls. Here’s the announcement:

Greetings everyone!

What: 11th Annual Socrates Café Picnic!

Where: Kenwood Park, corner of Franklin Ave and Penn Ave S. — North end of Lake of Isles

Purpose: to develop, refine and maintain those desirable social fellowship skills to which the prudent philosopher doth aspire

Facilities: restrooms in Park building, great playground for kids, picnic tables, grills

Parking on street and Kenwood Elementary school lot-corner Penn/Franklin

Food plan:
a) You bring your drink of choice…there will be water
b) Will is going to man the grill again this year!
c) BYOG (Bring Your Own Grill-able)! If you want to bring a couple extra to share, feel free. We will have a cooler on hand to store extras until the end of the picnic
d) Plates, utensils, napkins, wipes, ketchup, and mustard will be provided as well as an assorted variety of buns.
e) Please bring a dish to share; chips, veggies, fruit, dessert, etc.

Misc info:
1) RSVP is not required but using SignUp Genius is free and replies would help to determine food needs
2) Family, friends, kids, grandkids, SO’s, strangers expected to be friends and hitch-hikers are welcome, as well as other SC members that we may not have contact information for.

A PICNIC IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE FELLOWSHIP BROUGHT BY THE ATTENDEES–Philosophy to live by #88

See you then & there!
