Democracy Cafe

Our next global Socrates Cafe / Democracy Cafe — to be held once again via Zoom video so we can see and interact with one another face to face — will be on Tuesday December 10, Human Rights Day, at 9:00 a.m. Central Time U.S (10 a.m. Eastern Time U.S.)

December 10, 2019 will mark the 70th anniversary of the day the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The question we will explore this time around: “What human rights should be universal, and how do we make them so?”

We hope and expect that this gathering will build on the community of inquiry we forged with our inaugural global gathering this past October 9, in which about 70 people of many ages, perspectives and cultures (plus one entire classroom in Ft. Worth, TX) the world over joined us to explore in a thoroughly Socratic way, “How can we give peace a chance?”

Here is all the info you need to access the December gathering:

Christopher Phillips is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
